Kinda crazy that this thread is over two weeks old and nobody is saying anything. Is it Facebook?
Anyway, does anybody know if there will be any Maserati 16v powered cars there? I imagine there will be a decent showing of Turbo III cars. It is right in Jackson's backyard after all.
I *want* to go, but there are a lot of things getting in the way. Work, fence failure/dog situation, and not having a vehicle I trust. I took the Caliber last time (same place in '13), but I really want to take an old-school car. I'd love to take the Masi 16v Shelby Lancer, but it is no show winner. About as far as it gets from that! It is a mega miler experimental weekend toy vehicle really.
I'm attempting to take CSX 42 post fire for the first time. There's no engine, trans, dash, interior, wiring harness, etc. in the car now, but certainly no show winner. Bring it out. Worst case scenario, you have an amazing adventure you didn't plan on.
I know I know, but wow, this car has survived 10+ years of pizza delivery, 4 engines, 3 transaxles etc. It is a bit rough around the edges. Mechanically it is very good though. I wouldn't dream of entering it in the car show....maybe just park it outside in the lot and let people look over it. I would like that, and I'd be doing the same for every other car I saw there. It is oddball/interesting though, and I tried to go for a it-was-born-there look.
Just gotta finish those headlights and get the wipers working! I'm confident that the car would survive the trip. Just me and that open road for once in several years. And an old-school TM.
I did that once with the worse looking Shadow to attend the convention since I started there at 17. Everyone told me afterward that I should have had it in the show. They were right. If you bring any car, but it in the show as everyone will appreciate it. This is the one place on earth where for 3-4 days people will all actually care about your ride and the work you've put into it.
If anyone comes out, make sure you put your car in the show! Especially if it's a Masi powered numbered car!
I got my car running the week before SDAC28.
There was still a lot not finished on it including the ground effects and the cal was just to get it running.
Last time I had a car there was way back at SDAC10! I figured 18 years was enough. I say get it running and bring it and have a blast

I'm coming to my first SDAC, will be bringing my 92 IROC R/T. Looking forward to a fun week!
I think all the cars should enter the show regardless of condition. They all have some story to tell.
My Le-Baron needs lots of cosmetic work but I'll still enter it this year. It's last SDAC was 15.

Crap...sounds like there's a chance of some nice TC's showing up this year. I unfortunately won't be there to see them. I am aiming for next year...the big 30!
Here's the BS thread so we can keep this one for questions about the event, etc.

Thanks Mike. The car actually came from State College in January '99. It's been a long winding road with it.
I'm also attending my first SDAC, been playing with these since they were new, since the event is about 1.5 hours from where I grew up, there should be multiple wins this year.
Jeremey don't worry about looks, the car I'm bringing has been in my backyard for the last 8 years, far from show quality, but still cool none the less. It is also TIII powered.
