    SBEC wanted

I am in search of a working 2.5L Turbo SBEC for automatic, part numbers I have come up with are:
    4639246, 4639248, 4639250, 4672121, 4672125, 4672149, 4672161, 4672162, 4672163, 4672164, 4672165, 4672466, 4672520, 4672649, 4686592, 5234681, 5234791, 5235195, 5235225, 5235227, 5235249, 5235477, 5235613, 5236479, 5276347, 5276349, 5276371, 5276373, 5276383, 5276392, 5276399, 5276407, 5276409, 5276411, 5276413, P4529998, P4529999

Any of these will work as it will either be set up to be flashable or socketed for a custom tune.

    Thank you.

Did get the one from Arizona Parts yesterday, and I was able to start the engine for the first time in nearly 10 years.

    Re: SBEC wanted

Definitely! I finished up the vacuum/pressure harness (modified from the 2.5L T1 Shadow) and the cooling system plumbing, filled it with anti-freeze and water and ran it long enough to get fully warmed up. My pusher fans on low move plenty of air through the condensor and radiator, easily as much as the factory single fan did. Set the timing, got the idle speed motor unstuck from being closed for 10 years and it now properly adjusts the idle rpm.

    Re: SBEC wanted

As a friend of mine in Tulsa OK area puts it, "peeling the onion". I still need to be able to see why the custom cal I bought from Boost Button when Rob L. owned it will not work and then decide which way I want to go, flash module or stick with socketing and burning chips.

    Re: SBEC wanted

Flashable is really the only way to go, if you aren't already hung up on chip burning.
The chips are getting harder to find from the sound of it. Quality ones anyway. And its a pain in the butt having to pop chips in and out, compared to just reflashing.
But i know the flashable ecu's are harder to get, while we wait for the new BoostButton to build up some inventory. Maybe providing the core can help that along.
Not sure if Rob is watching this thread.

Yes he has been very active in the past, a bit less recently. Currently looks like he is on the forum weekly.

I was afraid of that, there are umpteen Rob Merciers I found yesterday. I was trying to find one in Spartenburg SC.
