Not sure yet, 3 are made already and you have to account for .002 growth with hard coat.

I can imagine it being something that might present more problems than it solves, that .002" could be just enough to be an issue...

It’s on the table when we do the batch when I get final count. But some thought is going to have to go into it.

I *HIGHLY* suggest the hard coating if you want any sort of longevity out of the drums. Even 7076 T6 won't stand up to sharp steels pounding against it and eventually the drums will get wear notches where the clutches ride.

I don't know, I've anodized many parts myself and the largest dimensional increase I've measured was less than .0005.
It depends on the length of time in the bath and overall size of the part.

Normal anodizing I agree it does not grow. Hard coat is a minimum .002. I will look into the option, I've ran one of Brian's drum without issues. If it wears out, I will order another one it's part of racing.

Quick update, I should have all the pieces in the next week or so. Already test fitted into a brand new mopar unit at the machine shop, I'm going to disassemble my current unit and see if I get same amount of end play. The pump stator has to be machined down to accommodate the torrington bearings that replaced the fiber washers. Hard coat anodizing is an option, but will add to cost. The proto type wide bands are done, multi-spring pack for the large oversize 3rd gear piston, and the over-size pistons for 3rd. I'll get some pictures posted up somehow. As always working to move forward, will be working on straight cut planets and billet VB to give us more fluid flow for 3rd gear and better oil flow.

Re: Billet forward and direct drums

I have not logged in forever, I have not tested the pieces yet. I was hoping to test them at IFO the 30th, but cylinder head is not ready.
