    Caliber stereo

Can I assume I can't easily retrofit the 6-disc stereo from my Caliber into one of the Daytonas?

    Re: Caliber stereo

I'd say no....I have the 6-disc/nav REC unit in mine and it is even larger than double DIN.

Do you have an REC for sale? The DVD (navigation) drive on mine started making a chirping noise and finally died. I have all the parts to upgrade to the '09 nav/stereo, but not so sure I want to bother since it still won't do bluetooth audio streaming.

    Re: Caliber stereo

Sorry, I got the "base" 6-disc changer, no nav and no sub.

But on that note, what about the speakers? I've got the Kicker 6x9s in the front doors and 5x7s in the rear doors, and the 3" tweeters in the dash. Do you think those would work in the older cars without being run thru the factory amp, or would it be a PITA like the older amplified Infinity setups?

School quarter ends on the 19th, at which point I'm pulling off whatever odds n' ends I think I can sell on ebay, and then hauling the shell in for scrap so I can start moving on other projects.

Feature-filled aftermarket units are relatively inexpensive.

I just hate to buy new speakers when I've got a pile of perfectly good ones already.

    Re: Caliber stereo

I'm not sure on the speakers. Mine came with the Kicker system + sub and it does sound awesome to my ears though. I bet it would be easy to check/test to see if they would work though. I'm not totally positive, but it seems the head units are also tied into the can bus, so I'm not sure if they could work easily in an older car.

Mine works great with bluetooth phone capability, but they didn't include audio streaming capability. And then, there is that smartphone/iPod holder in the arm rest, but no USB or aux connectivity. Argh!

Really? Pretty sure mine has an auxiliary port.

Was yours an '09? I think it must have been since it was blue. Maybe they added that, but my '08 doesn't have aux port.
