    K-Member Question

I have an 86 Laser XT and I'm putting in a A555. Instead of modifying my frame for the bobble strut from the previous A525, can I just use an K-Frame from a Lebaron GTC or a Daytona Shelby? If so do I have to use the later steering knuckles, or would mine be fine?

You can just use the latter K frame, although pretty much everything associated with a Daytona Shelby would be an upgrade from the 86 stuff and a direct bolt in. I think the only thing you may have to alter is the brake hoses.

    Re: K-Member Question

if you're thinking you need to change the K frame just because the 525 vs 520/555 bobble bracket locations are different , you don't really have to

the bottom of the bobble bracket only moves over by it's own width
so if you find a bolt twice as long and a short piece of tubing / pipe to go between the bbl brkt tabs on the K frame - you can then bolt the bb brkt to the side of one of the tabs

also , if installing a 555 / 520 into a car with an older log style turbo motor there is a little finger sized hook on top of the diff area of the transmission
... yeah , you'll wanna cut that hook off quick , BEFORE you try fitting the trans up into the car only to find that hook hits the egr tube where it bends above the trans..

I did that on my old '86, worked great.
