I let my CSX idle the other day to prepare for winter as she is not "on the road" yet. 2.5 TII CB with FMIC.
A PO connected the PCV valve to valve cover (Currently a CB turbo VC) as per norm but placed large tube from rubber 3 way and terminating just over the MTX. Any oil that gets past the valve cover baffles will leak directly on the road. In 15 minutes, I had 10mL of oil on my driveway.
I have not checked the engine's compression or leak down yet (apparently only 11K on the motor since the rebuild, but who knows what is the real story). The short term goal is to ensure the car does not have any fluid leaks so I can pass the local safety regulations.

My question is. Any easy way to improve oil removal from the blow by? My idea
1) Install a 4 inch vertical rise pipe packed with a high surface area polyester filter ( as used in my aquarium, for example)
2) Add a catch can after #1

Ideas are welcome
