Question Help - 1989 Chrysler TC Boost Gauge Wiring

I'll keep this nice and short. Basically I decided to wire up a digital boost gauge in my 1989 Maserati TC.

I ran a power wire from the battery to the wiring harness on the gauge. This wire is supposed to be the constant 12v supply. Then there is a orange wire that is supposed to be a remote wire that is supposed to tell it when to turn on and off, I hooked this wire up to the 10AMP fuse that is for the Radio.

Everything works fine the first start-up. The gauge comes on when the ignition is put into the ON position. But when I turn the car off the gauge doesn't turn off and continues to pull 12v.

My question is, is there something i'm doing wrong or am I using the wrong spot? Also how do you guys have your digital boost gauge wired.

    Thank you!

Let's start with make and model of your gauge.

Looks like this is the manual.

Second question, have you measure the voltage at the radio fuse with key off?

Yeah I followed that same manual when wiring it up. The only reason I use orange instead of white is for the color change. And no I have not measured the voltage at the radio fuse with the key off. I'll try that out.

I have installed a couple electronic boost gauges from Autometer. Does yours use an auxiliary MAP sensor to drive the gauge?

Yes, They call it a "boost sender".

Does your gauge have any problem self-calibrating while starting? As in cranking the motor to start?

It would be best to wire the gauge off the "Z1" power feed. This supplies power even while cranking (I believe the radio feed is interrupted) and not a good source for an electronic boost gauge. The gauge itself should provide the 5v feed for the sensor.
