    Shift Cable P/N List??

    Has anyone compiled a list of shift cable part numbers and their associated application? I have a pile of shift cables, but didn't tag them when removed, so who knows what they go to. The ones i'm interested in tracking right now are:
    4446852
    4446854
    4446857
    4446858
    4431341
    These are all late shift cables, probably "P" and "AA" body.

    TIA!

    This may help ID your cables by measuring the length.

    04443498 / H / CABLE,Gearshift Control Crossover, 45.67" Lg.

    Any of those other lengths match up with what you've got?

    EDIT: just saw 83scamp's post. I guess the part numbers are different. My 1989 currently has one 1988 cable and one 1986 cable, so I know the lengths stayed the same.

    often the # on a cable is not the # in the part book sometimes it is

    changes in part numbers have more to do with changes to the pricing list

    they change the price all parts thereafter get a new number so you can't find it on the old now incorrect price list

    Yup, that's the problem I'm having, the P/N above are from the cable itself, but don't line up with what's in the parts manual.

    Shorter = P/AA
    Longer = G/J

    my 'rule' of deciding what they were from.

    And even then any replacement cables issued after the fact are yet different still with respect to p/n ID'ing
