    Squirrel performance turbo calculator?

Anyone have a mirror of the calculator? Looks like the squirrel performance page has been replaced with some baseball game.

    Re: Squirrel performance turbo calculator?

alot of it is built into mptune. you have to download the graphs separately. go to the mptune post 1 and download the zip file and extract it. it creates a file called mpgraphs.xml. then move that xml file into the same directory that the mptune.exe file is in. it may ask you to replace the existing file. then go back into mptune and select setup / calculators /turbo sizing. it takes a little to load up the data but this should give you all the turbo sizing info you need. also, mptune has a couple other calculators for injector info as well as drag strip stuff.

edit - i need to mention i copied all the graphs off the internet (some might have even been from franks site - i don't remember anymore). so i hope i didn't step on any toes or do anything "illegal".

    Re: Squirrel performance turbo calculator?

Hey guys, I subscribed to the board specifically for this topic.
I have been using the turbo calc on a nearly daily bassis for years and don't know what to do with myself since it went down.
I just downloaded the MPtune and will be trying to get the maps to work but for one most my computers run Linux and for another it's really nice being able to show people graphs online and having customers and others online being able to play with numbers themselves.
When it first went down I attempted to get in touch with Frank from the limited info I found on here. I emailed him and PMed what I was pretty sure was his Facebook profile with no response.
If this site is permanently down I would be very interested in trying to get my hands on the turbo calculator to host myself if there is any way that would be possible.
If anyone could get me any more info or if Frank sees this and can email, pm or otherwise contact me it would be much appreciated.

I never did. Does it include the mapping and everything?
I have gotten MPune working but I still liked the online version better.
I would love to get it back hosted online somehow if it was possible.

    Re: Squirrel performance turbo calculator?

Any updates on this? Has anyone heard from Frank or know if the turbocalc will be put back online?

What's up with this excel version? Is that what the site was based off of or another alternative?

I am still very interested in hosting this turbo calculator if there aren't plans to put it up elsewhere but I can't get in touch with Frank and I have tried every form of contact I could find. This is such a huge asset to people doing a turbo build or upgrade it seems such a shame to see it disappear.

The excel version has fewer compressor maps and is locked, just like the gearing one. I like both better than the online versions. Much faster.

Yeah it still works as a bit of a volumetric flow calc but doesn't do much good without the maps.
    Such a shame.

My harddrive with these is toasted currently and waiting for eventual recovery. Too bad that was my only drive with real MS office installed
