    Starter Motor Cable Terminal

Anyone replace one of these recently? What terminal are you using for the end? I need to replace my cable going to the starter motor in the Lancer because I'm sure it's losing too much voltage. Any leads here?

I used 1/0 welding cable for between starter, alternator, battery, and engine grounds.

I'd be interested to see how you terminated a 1/0 cable to the 6mm stud on the alternator.

I too would like to see the terminal for the 0ga wire on the starter solenoid. I would definitely go bigger if I could see how it fits in there.

    Re: Starter Motor Cable Terminal

The length where it bends over could honestly be alot longer, it was a very snug setup on my starter (running the bosch type). Lots of fiberglass tape got used.. If and when I ever revisit that cable again I would buy some 1/8" copper bar and make my own 90* terminal, drill and through bolt a ring terminal with the wire crimped into that.

I used the below terminal and made the opening in the plastic guard larger.
