    A568 91+ large spline intermediate shaft

    I bought a blown up a568 trans years ago and am in the process of trying to get it back together for my 91 Shadow.

    The front intermediate shaft bearing exploded and ruined the trans case, race, as well as wore the shaft pretty badly where 1st gear rides ".010" play".

    I bought a good case from Ed Papp "thank you sir!" several months ago, and this is the last piece to the puzzle.

    Looking for a good, 1991 or newer large spline "17 tooth" intermediate shaft to finish up my transmission.

    I would also likely need the matching ring gear "has anyone mixed and matched with good results?".

    I would much prefer the a568 shaft, as I have a brand new, zero miles 4 pinion differential; but would consider a good 523 shaft and gear in 3.50 or 3.77 final drive.

    Please let me know what you have and how much you want.

    The pinion or intermediate shaft should be the same for everything, there are 3 different input shafts that require more attention to ensure the correct one for a given scenario.

    Yes. I have a bad 523 and a bad 568 intermediate shaft in my spare parts box and the only difference between the two are the 568 has 13 pinion teeth and the 523 has 14 pinion teeth. Otherwise identical. Anyway, still looking for a good one!

    I had the bearing race 'walk off' on my 523/OBX Rampage RT last year. the race cut into the trans case so it was junked but my trans guy gave me back a box of parts. Might be useable? Not sure, haven't looked inside the box and frankly I'm not very trans savy, Ive helped my guy build a few but never solo'd.

    I have not been on here in a week or so but thanks for the reply! Do you have the intermediate shaft "pinion gear on the end" and the ring gear from the differential? I am still hoping for a 568 shaft, but willing to consider the 523 if the price is right. Oh and what final drive is it 3.77 or 3.50?
