    recommended sealant type

While repairing my CSX, I noticed a foam like sealant was used between the inner fender and the firewall. I was planning to use Napa seam sealant, it claims to be recommend in high vibration areas such a wheel wells etc. My FSM say that sealant is important but does not go into more details.

I think it's an closed cell epoxy foam. Most likely used for sound proofing and sealing. I make sure there's no rust then use regular seam sealer to seal it up again.
