Spirit R/T valve cover gasket question

Hello, I'm picking up where my dad left off on the Spirit. I need to replace lifters and notice oil smoke coming out of the valve cover near the firewall. I remember reading on the other turbo site about using two Chevy 4.3 VC gasket sets and cutting them, then using RTV to connect them. Who has done this before, and what RTV should I use?

    Thank you

Blue and black rtv has been used, both worked. My personal preference is ultra grey rtv.

Ultra Grey makes the most sense to me. Should I only use the RTV with no rubber gasket material?

RTV'ed on valve covers are a real PITA to remove should you need to get in there in the future..

This ^^ Did that once on an 8v and thought we were gonna break the valve cover trying to remove it later on. Definitely use a gasket.
