    Shelby auction- June

    From Fox news

Shelby aficionados will want to book their trips to Greenwich, Connecticut, this June because that's where Bonhams will have the privilege of auctioning off Carroll Shelby's personal car collection. In total, 23 cars (and trucks) covering Shelby's personal career will hit the auction block.

    shelby
1988 Dodge Shelby Dakota prototype (Bonhams)

Among the cars is a 1982 Dodge Charger prototype, which was the first vehicle Shelby worked on with Chrysler. The car would launch an era of Shelby-influenced Mopars, and many of those cars are present in the collection. On the Mopar side of things, bidders will have the chance to take home the following:

    1935 Chrysler Airflow sedan
    1983 Dodge/Shelby pickup concept
    1987 Dodge CSX no. 1
    1987 Shelby Charger GLH-S no. 1
1987 Dodge Shelby Lancer no. 1
    1988 Dodge Shelby Dakota Prototype
1989 Dodge CSX VNT no. 1
Obviously, a slew of Mustangs and Ford vehicles are among the group as well. The collection includes two 1969 Shelby GT 500s, a 1968 Shelby GT350, a 1967 Lincoln Continental, and a 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Continuation. As for modern Fords, the Shelby collection includes a 2008 Shelby GT500 KR (King of the Road) and a 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake.

So who's keeping the 86 Hans Herman Motored GLHS then? It's not in the group photo of the cars for sale on the Bonham's site, plus you don't have it listed here either Keito. BTW Bonhams said 24 cars for sale, where'd the 23 number come from? Also not in the pic the red TT Shelby Dakota...

Not for sale at this time. Guessing they might keep it at least for now?

    Re: Shelby auction- June

Is anyone planning on bidding on any of these cars? All the estimates are set at 10-15k for the Dodges. Not particularly confident in achieving big numbers are they.

I would love either Lancer #001 or '87 GLHS #0001, but sadly am not in a position to be bidding at the moment.
Edit: The '55 Desoto is a very nice car as well.

$5,000 - $10,000 for the Lancer. Apparently they're even less confident in it's value than the others! That would be a hell of a bargain if they're correct in their estimate.

    My prediction:

The non-Dodge cars will sell for decent money. The remaining bidders may buy the Shelby Dodge cars with hopes of their values increasing because of the attached Shelby heritage.

Come June 2019, we'll be discussing these same Shelby Dodges when they are listed on Ebay.

Funny how the auction takes place right before this years SDAC event. JT should contact them and offer free registration for this years event to all the new owners.

    Re: Shelby auction- June

Who else is planning on attending the auction. Probably the last time ever Shelby will have an auction that includes more than 1 original car. Kinda like the '94 auction...Kicking around the idea of attending not only the auction, but the big car show that weekend and whatever other kind of trouble I can find.

    Re: Shelby auction- June

Represent Vic! Personally, that auction isn't for me, I've been to lotsa dealer auctions, Mecum, BJ etc but I already know 2 things. First CT is a LOOOONG --- flight for me. Me knees despise flights over 2-3 hours anymore. Second, I can't afford to bid on any of the Shelby Dodges for sale, I suspect none of them will go for less than $25K-$30K and I'm not gonna spend that, I spent that much on a TM in the last couple years but not feeling it right now. Be pretty to cool if you went and took lotsa pics and gave a detailed write up.
