Red 16V TC Masi runs clean AF!

Red one sat a few years in the shop while I was driving/wrenching on other stuff. After a nearly 4 year hibernation it need a couple calipers unstuck, fixed a PS fluid leak, changed fluids, filed and regapped plugs all in preparation for the dreaded Cali smog recert. I hate that b!tch of a test that they can fail you for just about any subjective reason. Anyway, just came from smog place, runs clean AS F! Helz Yeah! Off to AAA

2.5" Mandrel exhaust, Shelby Daytona springs to cure 'TC Float', Rims, pull spring on WG for a couple more lbs of boost. That's is, pretty much stock. In the market for a clean TC? Haven't listed it yet but will soon.

So pretty stock. :-). Naah. Tc isn't for Me. I like the motor but I don't care for the rarity. I like easily replaceable parts.

Re: Red 16V TC Masi runs clean AF!

In MN, you claim non use at time of getting new registration. They may do a background check to make sure vehicle hasn't been "seen" on the road. Telling DMV vehicle wasn't in running condition isn't a valid reason, but telling them I didn't feel like driving it, is acceptable. Learned that the hard way... Every state has it's loopholes and what not, that you need to learn how to navigate through.
I could write a book on TX title, safety checks, and registration... There is a real reason why the San Antonio (Bexar County) DMV has on-duty police officers as security guards.

That's not too bad. I pay $100/yr/car to keep them on my property here. It's rough. I'm probably going to transition more of them over to antique and extended antique plates to lower the money the state gets out of me.

Re: Red 16V TC Masi runs clean AF!

You guys make me glad to be in Indiana... Once a vehicle hits 10 years old, it's at the state minimum for excise tax on the plates. Costs about $50 a year to plate them. No property tax, no extra fees, oh, and no emissions testing!!!

Now, a new vehicle and be over $400 for plates, but since my newest vehicle is 7 years old, and the rest are at least 10, my plates are pretty cheap...

ny isnt that bad for vehicles. everything else blows though.

i think my vehicles are around 40$/year for plates, 21 for inspection on anything newer than 1996 (less for old stuff) and the only emission test outside of NYC is keeping check engine lights off on 96 and newer vehicles.

Re: Red 16V TC Masi runs clean AF!

At least I got to put 200 trouble free top down miles on it today. I was in the boost plenty of the miles and it still only used 1/2 tank. I went to look at an 89 CSX but thats a separate thread and story...

Re: Red 16V TC Masi runs clean AF!

That's some dumb stuff there. In WI you just don't renew if you're not going to use the vehicle. When you decide to drive it you just go back in and register. Most of my cars if I'm going to keep it for longer than 2 years I get a collector or hobbiest plate for it. $150 for a lifetime registration. Only stipulation is you can't drive it in February. Also no testing here so I don't have to mess with any of that emissions stuff.
