Question 87 GLHS misfire at 2200

    Hello-

Been having a problem with my GLHS (bone stock) misfiring around 2200rpm. Idles fine, and runs fine once I get it up around 2800rpm or so.

    I have no fault codes.

I know there are idiosyncrasies with the GLHS like flaky grounds and leaky 2-piece intake gasket. The car has about 94K on it and has not had any major engine work and no aftermarket mods except for a K/N drop-in.

Any else had this issue and what was found? Needing a direction to go in to troubleshoot it and not just throw money at the problem. Thanks!

How do the plugs, wires, cap and rotor look? Any carbon tracks in the plug boots?

That was a good question. I pulled the cap, cleaned the contacts a bit, no carbon tracks. However the rotor looked pretty bad and I couldn't get it off the shaft so I had to carefully break it. Anyway it's replaced and did not misfire on my commute to work so that may have been it. Appreciate it.
