I'm swapping in the 89 k-frame with the stamped control arms into my 86 TurboZ. I'm thinking about using PT GT/SRT spindles with BC coil overs and Wilwood brakes. The PT spindle moves the ball joint down 1/2" and the tie rod out 7/8". Any large adverse effects from the differences?
Moving the ball joint down actually helps, especially when lowered.

I would have to think about it a bit more due to the tie rod end being moved downward also, but being moved the way you show it should increase the turning radius. I'm not a fan of that aspect, but everything else looks very good with them.
Me and DodgeZ put SRT-4 knuckles on his GLHS, didn't have any turning issues. Used the Wilwood big brake kit on it too.

This is good to know. I have some things in mind for my projects, and sounds like this would fit in with those plans.
PT spindles use a different wheel bearing? And is the spline different, or a is it usable with existing axles?

Existing axles fit. Appears to be different wheel bearing. I can take pictures if you want, have both on the bench.
I think they have the pressed in bearing like the pre-91. But, not sure if the bearing interchanges.
Its too bad they didn't use the bolt on bearing.

Turning ratio should only be a problem if the rack lacks enough motion. Usually the limit to how much the wheels turn is limited by the knuckle to control arm and not by the rack. I would change the steering rate...Originally Posted by Force Fed Mopar

If this is a good fit, then I should really look into doing this for my 89. I've wanted to upgrade from the base brakes. A Neon/PT setup would certainly give more options!

I wonder what it would take to have a bracket made to adapt the wilwood kit to the late knuckles? It seems like it would be the best overall compromise. Bolt in bearings, pushes the ballpoint down, retains turning radius, and allows for the biggest of brakes.

Is it the late knuckle or the cast control arm that moves the wheel from the centre of the wheelwell (forget if it's forward or back)

Check out Jon Trotter's info in his GLHS 937 build thread. He used some LHS/300M rear brakes from what I can recall.
So there's not much modification to be done to fit PT GT knuckles on? I was hoping I could use a Neon (SRT-4?) strut, PT GT knuckles, and PT GT brakes on my Daytona.
That would work so long as you make the provision for the strut to bolt in up top. Frankly, unless you're going to use the Willwood big brake kit for the SRT-4, I don't see an advantage to using the PT knuckle these days. Those brakes call for me though...
Just to be clear, is there a difference between the PT GT spindle and a "normal" PT spindle? Also, I seem to recall someone saying the manual PT GT had a different tie rod location, resulting in a tighter turning circle...
I may be conflating this with other info on the K cars and Vans though...
