Injector Flow Test Results +20 and FFV

Flow numbers for Green Top FFV injectors and 'NOS' +20 injectors.
FFV flowed 37 lb/min after service. NOS +20's flowed 45.7 lb/hr after service. Flowed at 55 psi.
+20's were supposed to be new, I bought them on the forums or Ebay. Flow out of the box was all over the board. Out of the 18 total +20's I had serviced recently the majority flow 480 cc/min (45.7 lb/hr) at 55 psi

I found the record for another set of FFV injectors I had serviced a few years ago. This set only flowed 34.3 lb/hr @ 55 PSI.

Re: Injector Flow Test Results +20 and FFV

    Andy,
The second post is about what mine flowed from Mr. Injector a couple/few years ago. I had mine flowed @ 55 PSI too. I had some 87 Shelby Z injectors (aluminum pintle cone) cleaned & flowed at the same time as a baseline. Flowed just a bit more than those. I wonder if Bill's method changed any recently, or his bench was recalibrated? I came to the conclusion that his bench might flow around 3-5% lower than what others have experienced. Based on flowbenching +20's and FFV at the same time and on the same flowbench, and when I had mine flowed against TII injector, one would think it would be hard to dispute that FFV injectors are anywhere near +18's or whatever people claim. Of course your always going to have people claim otherwise.
BTW- I'm not a FFV hater. I'm running FFV injectors in my near bone stock CSX-T (less cat, and intercooled) at 55PSI, and it runs perfect. 33-36 MPG driving back and forth from SDAC last year. Long and short term fuel trim is closer to be optimized than with 32-33 lbs./hr. injectors. Running the stock 27lbs. injectors and the TII SMEC was trying to add in lots more fuel.

Re: Injector Flow Test Results +20 and FFV

I contacted Bill about the set of FFV's I had done earlier. Those were flowed at 3 BAR. Maybe Chrysler made a running production change and had the flow rate of the FFV injectors increased. I haven't found anyhing on paper to verify what the Chrysler spec was for these.
As it is, it seems that the FFV injectors flow what the '804' injectors were supposed to.

I found this at Stan Weiss' web page. His data shows 37.7 lb/hr at 3 BAR. That calculates out to 42.5 lb/hr at 55 psi.

If you wanna look into something i found.
The old turbo volvo "mean greens" are bosch EV1's of the same ohm and same body style.

Look to flow about 3-5% higher than ours stock. and are easily sourced and cheaper.

    0280150804
    Fuel Injector Specifications:
Steel Body with black factory enamel - Plastic connector
    Bosch with EV1 electrical connector
    Flow Rate: 315 cc/min at 3 BAR - 30 lbs/hr at 43.5 PSI
    Coil Resistance: 2.7 OHMS
    Fuel Nozzle: Single Pintle

If i keep running into hard to find crappy leaking replacement T2 injectors ill just grab myself some from a 940 volvo turbo. I actually still see plenty of those in the yards.

    Andy,
Those #'s from Stan Weiss's web page are surely incorrect. I believe they were flowed at 55 PSI (like most of other 2.2/2.5 injectors) but posted at more normal 3 bar pressure. That has posted like that for years. His web site is spectacular, but he obviously relies on flowbench info from others. Therein lies the potential for errors.

    30 lb/hr @ 43.5psi = 33.7 lb/hr @ 55psi

    FFV: 321 cc/min

    Volvo: 311 cc/min
