    New Budget Limited Slip Differentials

We are working with an automotive gear manufacturer to produce our own brand of budget Limited Slip Differentials. If there are enough people interested we will move forward by taking pre-orders. We hope to be able to ship later this year. Upgraded bolts and Belleville springs will already be installed so no "Upgrade Kits" will be required. Let us know if there are any additional changes you would like to see with these new LSD units.

    Thanks!

Sounds like a torsion style, based on?...

Also, it would broaden the pool of potential buyers if it could be made to be used in either a manual or an auto... that may mean a spacer, or since it's being made from scratch, perhaps the housing could incorporate the spacer/pattern needed to cover the autos. I know a number of folks with autos would love to use one, but those always required a spacer to allow its use, and that added expense/trouble prevented them.

    Interested.

I hope the 'budget' part doesnt mean off shore junk ?

And while the door is open... Any plans in the pipe line for other transmission hard parts ? (synchronizer sliders would be wonderful)

Yes, we plan on manufacturing the spacer for automatic applications as well.

We cater to this community and feel there are enough interested members here to meet our minimums. If we fall short we will reach out to other communities to reach those goals.

*UPDATE*- We will have a test piece in hand next month!!

I believe the only Neon-specific features on the differential would be the location for the speedometer gear and the chamfer on the inside of the sun gears so the axle circlips don't get stuck. Everything else appears to be the same for the T350 versus the A520/A523/A543.

I'm not familiar with the requirements of automatics though.

The Neon style differential with the provisional speedometer gear mount was provided for a sample. We will make sure the sun gear chamfers are also included in production units. We will test fit for automatic applications once test pieces are received.

Target price will be somewhere between $650. and $750. Keep in mind our initial 30 piece order is no where near the manufacturing volume of OBX. We hope our volume level and application models will increase in the future to bring the price down.
