    What cam for 87 csx

Title says it all.... What should I expect to see under the valve cover? As far as I can tell, it's totally stock.

unless it's been changed it should be a slider cam

Crap. I was hoping for a roller. Maybe that goes on the list of things to do.....

well scribble my name down beside it
I have an 89TII roller cam you can have

I don't think I have the roller followers to go with it though - I moved - lost a big part of my stash doing so

Remember you have to advance the cam timing, (I think 4 degrees), when switching fro a slider to a roller if you are installing a square tooth
cam gear on the roller cam.
I struggled with that for a year!

Could you you supply more information as I am unclear?

I measured my pulleys on the bench here is my thoughts.
    1984-1988 "4201974" Square tooth 2.2 Turbo, 2.2 N/A

    1989-1992 "4387557" Round tooth 2.2/2.5 Turbo, 2.2 N/A
    1989-1993 "4448690" Round tooth 2.5 N/A "common block"

1)the Turbo square tooth timing of the pulley is exactly the same as the Turbo CB round pulley. I matched up the keyways and the timing holes.
2)The Turbo round vs EFI round are different by a touch less than 1/2 tooth. So I could believe this was 4 degrees. Could this be where people are getting the 4 degrees from?
