I'll just do up the screen cable myself as I have no idea where I'm going to put it yet. Ill probably add the enclosure to mine.

No problem Alex. I just don't want anyone to be surprised, then have some sour feelings.
Also, if those items are ordered after the device gets delivered, they'll be additional shipping charges.
Everything will fit in the current flat rate boxes with room for good packing materials.
    Just trying to be efficient!

At least you know that you’re dealing without the cheapest guys on the planet. Our slogan should be frugal to a fault.

    I know it!
I hope they've done the math and can appreciate this entire venture is a pretty good deal. At the end of all we hope to break even! But, with the re-work, and if we factored in our time, we would be negative.

On second thought I might just order cable too and get it extra long so I can just shorten it if need be. I'm in group 2 so I got a little time to think about it.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

    Just to clarify about cables,
    - The 8ft communication cable (for the diagnostic port to the mpscilink device) when ordered with connectors will have the pin connectors for the device end. The spade connectors for the diag port won't be crimped on, so you can pass the wire through the firewall.
Also, that is a nominal 8 ft, so you may end up with a bit more. You can trim it for what you need.

    - The extended display harness has connectors on both ends pre-installed. You won't be able to shorten this harness without re-installing new JST crimp connectors. Just choose a close length measurement close to what you need and tuck away excess. It is best to keep under 48". It does take a special crimper to do those connectors.
For the 5" & 7" display harnesses there will be two connectors on the mpscilink device side. The small 2 pin connector is for the +5v external power for the larger displays.
For the 3.5" display harnesses there will just be 4 pin connectors on both ends, but one end connector will be marked with black paint. That is for the mpscilink device connector.

If there are any questions, just let me know.

Is the display harness like a ribbon or something? Can't just cut it in the middle and solder + heatshrink?

Its not ribbon, its a 4 wire cable, identical to what is pictured on the order page.
If you want to cut and solder, I can't guarantee you won't have issues.
What you do to it is on you.
But if you want one, i can just include the connectors for one side loose, and you'll have to crimp.
    They are tiny crimp connectors.
Let me know if you want pics.

Or, just wait and make you measurements, and i can just envelope mail the cable later.
My goal was just to save seperate shipping costs.

Had been meaning to make sure you already have an arduino mega. Hope you do. (Arduino Mega 2560 R3, to be exact.)

Yes, I already had the mega. Thank you for checking to make sure I had what I needed though. I really appreciate all the hard work you, chromguy and wowzer have put in this project, can't wait till spring to get the SC out of storage and get this hooked up!

    No problem Dave.
If you only plan to install and use in Spring, then you'll for sure have to update all the software. I'm sure they'll be further changes, now through then.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

    New update!
With the latest customer order of mpscilink devices, we are now out of available boards to build for the group2 purchasers.
I am going to disable the device order button, but keep the other order page items active.
Thank you to all who took advantage of this opportunity. Its a pleasure seeing a good deal of interest in this device.

If there is continued customer interest, we can order more boards if we come up with an order quantity of 5 or more.
Please let me know if you missed out and want in, so we can keep track.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

I plan to start to assemble/test the second batch of boards over the holidays. This time the PCB boards going to be either green (like batch 1) or red. If you have a strong preference, there will be a $5 surcharge.....Just kidding. We have 10 Green and 8 Red available, Wayne will decide a fair criteria Note: these are images based on the "Gerber files". I am expecting the boards to arrive tomorrow.

It's a group effort! But i hear you.
    I'm guessing you'll prefer a green board?
