    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

In the interest of eliminating potential disgruntlement (is that even a word?) I 'd like to ask the group for their expectations on the following.
Problem: I did not specify which would take precidence for the delivery, pre-order opt in, or payment received.
Since these units will ship in two groups a few weeks apart, i want to avoid any hard feelings if someone opted in early, but paid late. There are several in that situation. I know some folks don't see update posts right away.
Is there an accepted "unwritten rule" either way for a situation such as this. Remember, I'm not a vendor so i wasn't really thinking about this early enough to make an announcement. I only realized after we got the first payments and never addressed it.
The goal here is for everyone to be pleased with not only their device, but the process!
    Thanks.
    Wayne H.

It would seem the the fairest thing to do would be to ship out the ones that are paid in full. I do not think it would be fair that somebody fully paid would have to wait for somebody that is not to get their stuff.

Hopefully all can agree and understand that to be fair, we will ship in order payments were received.
And I'll accept the blame if anyone has an issue with this. I should have stated it clearly earlier.

Wow, there are just so many ways to answer this....
But I'll take the high road...
You are #5, so in the first group.
Maybe i should just list everyone, if others want to know as well.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

I believe I explained earlier how the first group or batch was determined.
There were 10 boards, I have one and Morris has one to continue testing and continuous improvement iniatitives. That leaves 8 boards in the first batch for customers.
Group 2 will get theirs built from the next batch of boards (which is in the process of being ordered).
There is good news. As previously updated all of the displays have been received, and quicker than i expected. Hopefully the boards can be manufactured and shipped timely. When i have more info, I will let you know.
I'm just as anxious as you to get these to you!
Another silver lining, is this is giving me time to get my design changes completed on the enclosure. I hope to have a new prototype to test soon!
If I can get that wrapped up and tested, i should be able to offer them on the order page and ship without additional shipping!
I want everything to all come together for your benefit.

Nobody has to get bumped. But thank you!
It was just so people understand the difference in the two sets of numerical sequences. The preorder, and the paid order.
Everyone paid will get their items.
Because of being unsure of consumer interest, there needed to some commitment before a second batch of boards would be commissioned.

I think you might be my favorite customer!
The investment in developing this product for the 20 people that ordered has been significant. Morris has spent years developing the concept and software to support it. Miles (& the team) has significant monetary investment in designing, and developing the prototypes to further test, and then the frequent redesigns to improve, and he is doing all the assembling and bench testing. I have alot of time wrapped up in operational testing and validation as well as identifying product hardware and software improvements.
So, it is very nice to hear words of appreciation from you and others.
And i hope you all will be just as pleased when you get your items.

I could only imagine the cost in time, materials and frustration for what essential is a labor of love. I appreciate you guys wanting to share examples of the product with us. That's huge!

I dont own a turbo mopar, im a jeep guy, hopefully i can get this thing working on my jeep. I want to rip out the EVIC and put this in its place!

We are getting very close to shipping the first eight. I am just waiting for the DC-DC boost modules from China, I hope to receive this week and get these sent to Wayne quickly.
I have ordered parts for the second run of 12. I do plan to order a few extra PCB boards but we don't plan to stock units for sale as we have nearly zero margin. When
the time is right let's us know and we will do our best to help.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

And in other news, I am updating the MPSciLink storefront, with some additional information and items.
I'm expecting my redesigned prototype enclosure any day now. If all goes well with the fitment, i can revise item info and make it available to order. It will be simlilar this:

I hope to have those in hand before the boards arrive, so delivery will not be delayed further.

I also have started adding some options for extended wire harness for the displays. These will plug right into the displays like the included connector harness, but will be 36" length, and available up to 60" (the shorther the better though).

I have some less expensive wire I will also test to see if that is another option.

The 5" & 7" displays will require an external 5v power source due to the power consumption. The extended length wire harness will have this in mind and the 5v +/- wires will be left out of the 4pin connector.

Or do you mean the enclosure?
I can't wait to get it!

    And, the latest update:
I picked up my board from being modified with the new matching JST XH 3S connector like the display uses. As well as having my SD card module flipped over to allow access from outside the enclosure.
Just tested, and all looks good!

The white display harness wire is the less expensive wire I wanted to try. But i like the other wire better since it has more than double the strands, it is even more flexible. I've got 5 meters of it, so I can get 3 discounted lengths out of it if anyone is interested.
