The first 8 boards/diy kits are just about ready, but we need to get this group order for the displays in as soon as possible, since the shipping lead time is extended from overseas.

So far only 5 folks have got their payments in.
I hope to have payment posted by the weekend. 👍🏻

    Ok.
Please do. I need to get ahold of the others individually I guess.
If I do a partial order, the price per display will be higher, and everyone loses. So, I hope folks know that.

There's room for another, every paid order will be filled. As the current inventory is depleted, we will restock. I believe there were a total of (10) v2 boards printed, (2) were test units, and the other 8 will go out to customers.
I think Miles already has an order in for the additional boards. And like any electronic product/computer device, there will be continuous improvement so there might be slight differences along the way. ( An example, right now there is an LED light on the board that is not being used. That will be eliminated in future units. )

Those first 8 should be ready to ship as soon as the displays arrive - EXCEPT, that they haven't been ordered yet since I need to wait for the remaining interested participants to make their order official with payment. I am ready. Otherwise, I'll place a display order for the ones that have paid, and have to price adjust for the increased cost per unit.
Ordering in a larger quantity is getting a discount, that was the point.
Just hope folks understand the cause if there has to be adjustments. And this delays the delivery for those that are already waiting on their order obviously.
PM's and IM's have gone out to the remaining folks so we should be ready to place the display order soon!
In the future, it might be easier to have customers source their own display and pay more for it unfortunately.

Correction: the order for the next batch of boards will be made after the remaining participants complete their payment.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

Just to update everyone on where we stand:
I am still waiting on 2 folks from the pre-order list to confirm their order selections with payment. 17 orders have been confirmed with payment.
I have been contacted by one new participant, which if they decide would round our participant total to 20 customers.
If anyone else is wanting in on one of these devices, now is the time.
At this point, I'll plan on making the display order tomorrow for everyone who has paid.

As far as a project enclosure goes, I am working with a builder to make changes to one of his existing products specifically for us. It will locate access points for wiring conectors and screw terminals, and should end up pretty nice. Look forward to showing you when i receive a model with my proposed design changes.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

All of the touchscreen displays for the current purchases have been ordered.
When i get a shipping update with expected delivery date I'll update again.
Miles has the first batch of boards pretty much assembled.
If all works out as i expect, everything should be here ready to ship when the displays arrive.

Looking forward to this. I am currently running an 87 Daytona Shelby Z with LM. I'll want to switch up to SMEC sometime. I have to remove transmission and do a teardown soon. I'll try to do some initial testing with the LM and this before I pull the tranny again.

I haven't done the best job actually reading this thread, but I have a question. Can I use this thing to do what the OTC scanner does?

ETA: The test modes the OTC offers are what I'm referring to.

    Can you be more specific?
I am unsure what the OTC offers for tests.
MPScan has some diagnostic tests, but I've never used any of them. But I've heard of folks doing actuator tests?

none of the diagnostic tests have been setup. it is something that could be added in the future. actually, i never even thought of it! mpscan has some rudimentary tests set up when i was working with my smec a few years ago. they have not been fully vetted. i need to do some reseach to get this done and hook my drb2 back up and log the protocols.

This would be awesome...DRBII like test protocols that follow the driveability manual troubleshooting steps.

I just ordered one of these. I'll hold off on the display and see what I can do with some sort of tablet deal. Do those things get cheap on black Friday?

"drivability manual trouble shooting steps".... hmm, don't have access to them. i was just thinking i would record the conversation the drb2 has with the ecu when it does its tests and use that. if i recall that's how i originally set up mpscan to work. btw, i'll be working on incorporating at least some of the tests in the new device.

    Just a quick update:
All of the displays for the current order group have been received as of today. All items ordered were present in the delivery.

If there are no objections, I can test each display to identify any issues early. But if you want to be the first one to break open your box, let me know.
The assembled device boards are planned for testing prior to delivery.

If you have any questions let me know. The first 8 orders will start shipping as soon as the assembled boards arrive.
