Morris or Miles can chime in on actual requirements.
I'm not using shielded, and only 22awg and all appears to work fine. Since I'm a SMEC i have to run the wire in the engine compartment, so you do want something appropriate for that. I'm using 4 conductor, and no pairing.
Seemed to be a cost effective choice too. Shielded stuff was more and not sure if it would be required. Be sure not to run it near any ignition components.
I've been using the same wire in Mini since Memphis.

Free is better than buying, so i don't blame you for wanting to try what you already have.
The white wire i have might be ok for this, but not quite ss flexible. I only have a small spool I was testing with and can make discounted display cables with.

I've looked at what i can do the 8ft lengths for, and i would say $12. If you want connectors, +$1. (The diagnostic port end will have male spade crimps, and the mpscilink ends will have terminal crimp ferrules.)
That being said, those that opt in on these additional items will receive testing with exactly all of your ordered parts.

I've ordered 25 meters of wire, to offer this and continue with the extended length display harness.
So I'll have enough wire shortly to have at least (6) 8' lengths and complete the display harness orders. Any others will have to wait for another wire order.

I'll have to add it to the order site, so no worries right now. And i don't have one to photograph. I still need to get the connectors as well.

    .
Straight through cable is better than twisted pair for the MPSciLink to screen. The communication speed for the Nextion screen is 115K which it recommended at 4ft max from my reading on the subject. With the said, the 4ft is very conservative but it is best to keep the cables as short as possible.

I'm with Barry in regard to wanting the cable with the enclosure. LMK what all I owe on top of that, or drop a line in here when it's available on the store. Thanks guys.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

Update: Received my wire order today.
I have updated the order website
    Http://www.sites.google.com/site/mpscilinkorder/
Included now are the 8ft wire lengths (with or without connectors).
I've updated the picture for the Extended Length 5" & 7" display harness, there is a 2 pos connector that will slide on the pins for the usb micro board to power those larger displays.

If you are in Group 1, and would like wire, please purchase and i will hold your items to ship in one box.
I know many of you want the enclosure as well. I plan to ship everything ordered together.
Any purchase after your board/display/mega ships, will require additional shipping charges.

Ah geez. I've been buried at work for the past month. Is it too late to get in on this party?

It shouldn't be too late. Miles will have to confirm the number of "extra" boards that were being ordered to know for sure.
Other stuff is all easier to come by, except that pricing is already changing on some of the other components like the Mega and some of the board components.
The display prices might be different for just ordering 1 or two.

If anyone else is waiting to see how things go and want to get in on a future group, please let us know so we can have that in mind.
I think there may be some additional interest once the first batch are out in customer hands and there is some customer use feedback.

Great! I'm going to do that right now.

So...I must have missed the place to comment on the order with my username. Sorry! The order/confirmation or whatever for me is 0MA57597A89824825

I'd love to get an enclosure too when those become available.

No problem. ( I thought any paypal cart let you do a message to seller.)

I'm maintaining the "store", and I've got your order receipt. If i have to I can fill your order with the 5" display that i was going to use.

If anyone wants in I'll see if i can get the same pricing on a smaller qty of displays.

    Re: MPSciLink device pre-order

    Enclosure Update!
Thanks for being patient while i continue to work for a nice enclosure solution.
I received the new designed prototype today. I did have to work a bit with a few of the access slots to get eveything to assemble. Three parts poke through the side panels, the usb1 connection to flash the Arduino, the SD Card and the display header. The display header and the sd card slots need a bit of tweaking and i will request those changes with the builder. I also found i forgot to define an access slot on the top panel for the 12v +/- terminal block. And some of the terminal screw access slots on the top could be thinner and positioned better.

All of those changes are minor and should be able to get those addressed easily. Pricing should be right around what i was targeting. If i can get a group shipping discount, then i can pass the savings on. But expect a price of $18.50. I did find i needed some additional fasteners and non-conductive spacers.

    The enclosure measures:
    3.750" W x 5.125" L x 1.750" H

Please let me know what you think!
