    Beehives

It is amusing that after using Magnum V8 beehives in the 2.2 that I have now found a 3 rd Mopar in need of the beehives. The low installed height causes lift issues with bind. The early first gen Hemi has this problem. I am building my 57 354 hemi right now and they didn't have a beehive spring or a good spring for past .500" lift. Low and behold I am using the same 26995 spring I use in the 2.2 and Magnum now in my 354 Hemi. You can bet Comp will never list that spring for the 2.2 or the Hemi anytime soon.....

    Re: Beehives

    lol
up until recently I had an oil pan that would have got that old hemi into your challenger

I had a 55 331 truck engine that came installed in a 72 challenger .. way back when
it was a creation of the late 70's

not surprising the springs cross over as a lot of things in those old motors seemed all to familiar when I was still into small block dodges

    Re: Beehives

For discussion only, is your 354 a 1957??

Chrysler cars went to 392 for 1957 but some 1957 Dodge cars, (D-501) and trucks (Power Giant) used them instead of the Dodge versions.

You probably already know that the lifter bank angle changed on "Chrysler" Hemi Engines in 1957.

    Tell us more !!

    Thanks
    Randy

    Re: Beehives

my 354 is a Dodge D500 dump truck engine. The 354 stopped in 56 as a Chrysler engine. No 392 came in a truck. Then later trucks the 361 and 413 is industrial where as the hemi truck engines are not industrial. The industrial engines were generators and luggage carts etc.
