So...cruising through the threads and reading and I come across a post that mentions the OBX for our cars is discontinued. So...I did some looking and sure enough, OBX doesn't even list it!
Guess our options are drying up even more.

June 27th, I received confirmation directly from Peter at OBX that it is indeed discontinued. Guess I'll never get the right gears for mine.
Time to save our pennies and hope that Quaife doesn't give up on us.

Dang. I would buy another one for the group buy price I took part in several years ago. I don't know about the Quaife though. That's a lot of cash for a diff in my cars.

That strain on traction happens at less boost than you might think with a mild build, especially for a 2.5 car.
I don't know if TU still has some in stock, it didn't seem long ago Chris mentioned it. The OBX was a nice price niche, even with having to check and change some fasteners.

Hopefully there will still be a few around once Chris and Cindy are out. Anybody that wants one (or wants a spare) should probably move fast though.
Modern Performance has already pulled it off of their website. Some of the DSM webstores might be another place to look.

It's off FWP's website, so I'm assuming they are out? I know it was listed last spring when I bought mine.
Have to watch eBay and cruise the neon and DSM sites.
I wonder if we pulled together enough TM and Neon guys if we could get some more made? I'd buy 2.
BTW, there is another option. Wavetrac has a listing for the neon/Eclipse 2wd a420 diffs. Part # is WAV76.309.160WK. Combines clutches and torque biasing LSD's. Wavetrac claims better performance than Quaife LSD's. $995 shipped from MAP.

Mod the sway bar 1st, then decide if you really want to add more weight to the trans. I'm serious too. I was all up for getting a quaife (I'll pay for high quality when I can). But after modding my sway bar I can't get just 1 tire to spin anymore and I've tried lots.
Do you have more info on swaybar mod? Link?
Cut the ends shorter, drill and tap, and use either rod ends or sway bar links for a Nissan Sentra I believe. I think these might potentially work. From Sebring convertible.

The swaybar mod is here on Gus' website: http://www.gusmahon.org/html/tech%20diagrams.htm
Pure, effective, grass-roots simplicity. Gus' legacy lives on.
However, that seems like it would only be good for drag racing. The benefits of the OBX (and the Quaife for that matter) extend far beyond that.

That's not the same sway bar mod that glhnslht2 is talking about I don't think.
This also begs the question, what about the "lifetime" warranty...
