Mike, i was beginning to wonder if you planned on attending!
Glad to see you post this. I was about to if you didn't!
So, I'm in. I was planning to do Cecil in November the same weekend as the ABM Nats were normally, but i have changed my schedule a bit to make this.
Van is still at Brian's, but i expect to be ready for 10/28.
Will plan on riding up that Friday.

NHRA tech + 800 miles = not going to make it
after trying to pass NHRA tech at Route 66 and being told to go away before he even made it past the engine bay!!! I can't even consider risking the trip. 1600 miles round trip would be way to expensive to not even be able to race.
Good luck to all who make it.
So speaking of NHRA tech, what do I need to be concerned about that would be their big heartburn?

I'll be there! The NHRA inspection might not go my way....I currently don't have a neutral safety switch. Guess I'll have to add one before October.
Sounds like a good opportunity for me to get some Turbo Mopar learnin'.
Cecil tech is always NHRA tech.
Can you break it down for me??
So as Mini sits, I'm legal until i hit 11.50? Then I need a rollbar?
Is there a certain ET range that requires a jacket, or just specific mods?
If i get kicked out, i'd rather it be after some runs, rather than not being allowed to run! But I'm not sure i could do that anyway. Just want to beat my 11.77...hopefully with at least an 11.74... lol!

humm....wonder how you came up with that number? 🤔 Funny I'm searching for the same goal. Lol. My clncernen too would be not making it past tech. I'll look online for some fire jackets, is there a specific rating they look for. Like helmets have Snell rating, is there something for jackets?

maybe racing weekend before so it may be hard to get off.
Just reading some NHRA rules posted on the srt forums.
Another thing that i saw was slicks require screw in valvestems.
The jacket spec is SFI 3.2A/1

Realistically the tech at Cecil is pretty laid back, unless it's an obvious hazard.

I should have noted that Cecil was not the track the that flagged me on the valve stems. I would have to agree that Cecil is probably the most laid back of all the tracks I've been to.
I'm planning to be there if me car is to broken be then. Haha!
