    Unexpected Clutch behavour

My original stock clutch in my 87 TI Sundance has been working as expected since new (Sept 1987). Very occasionally lately it is very grabby when cold, but now nearly every time for the last few drives in my DD. My spider sense is tingling but I have never run into this type of clutch behavior. It seem to work fine when warm.
    Suggestions? ideas?

Oh it grabs like my TU purple 4 pad in my CSX.
    Regards,
    Miles

    Re: Unexpected Clutch behavour

Nope dead serious...clutch worked perfectly until a few weeks ago Only 85,000 miles on the car. Still hold at full boost without slipping, Just not as wide of a slip point on the pedal when slipping the clutch when cold like at a stop sign. After a few stops, back to normal operation.
I was wondering if this is an early sign of a failure such as a broken spring for example.

have you tryed lifting the clutch peddel with your foot to adjust the cable tension ?

if that's a little slack I could see the clutch being a little more grabby than usual

ps I think I still have 2 0r 3 old cancer discs in my secret stash if one's needed

Doubt it, broken springs will probably means the clutch is engaged all the time and you can't disengage it.

    Re: Unexpected Clutch behavour

I think I've had this happen in the past and it was a old stretched clutch cable that caused it to become more grabby.

I have a small weeping leak which I believe is at the rear seal. So this is possible.

I will replace the shift pads to bronze in the 1990 568 I have on the shelf and finally get that 520 out of there while I fix the leak/clutch.
