I just had oil/filter changed on my wife's 2011 3.6 Chrysler 200 at the selling dealer.
The service dept. advised me the Engine oil cooler is leaking.
All looks dry and there are no oil drips, at least yet.
I found it curious they recommended an Engine oil dye test for $170.00 to confirm its leaking oil???
I see the oil filter was changed for 2014, are the new housings more or less prone to leaking?
Lots of 2014 models with cooler leaks on google but I haven't noticed any earlier ones.
Anyone have any experience in this area, do leaking coolers drip first or just bust ??
Seems strange if the new design is more troublesome than the original, or do they all leak ?
The dealer is the only one to ever touch touch this car but I don't have a lot of confidence in them.
If original coolers have a short life, are aftermarket units any better??
Whats the scoop please ??
Thanks
Randy
