Intermediate bearing support bracket for 555 trans setup

I don't know the name of the part, but it is the one that supports the bearing for the intermediate shaft equal length setups. I have everything but that piece. The one pic is the bracket I have that does not work, the other is the bearing that is mounted to the bracket. Can pick up at SDAC if you are coming and would prefer that.

Just for you Mike, I will have it up there with the long axle, but I want the bracket for the setup I already have.

I'll see if I have an extra of what you're looking for. Unfortunately, my equal length setup is my get-home-from-the-track kit.

It will be my backup this next week and eventually my unequal length will be my backup.

Re: Intermediate bearing support bracket for 555 trans setup

I used the jack shaft from my 525 with the transmission yolk from a 555. Then used an L Body 525 axle from the jack shaft to the wheel.
If you use the G, J, H body jack shaft assembly, you may have to have it shortened. I have a few of those.

Your photo is of an L body bracket and a G,J,H body bearing.

The pics were to identify what I had, so someone with that same bracket didn't think they had the right one I was looking for. I thought about doing that too, may go that route, but would prefer a beefier axle. I have a set of unequal length shafts for an 88+ auto Omni coming, so assuming the length will be correct for the passenger side as well, but we will see. At this point I just want the car off the jacks so can get everything finished. :-\
