    What have I done? 84 E Class

This is mine now for some reason.

I traded it for a couple sets of keys. The engine is telling knock knock jokes so Im thinking 2.5 turbo swap.

I was just going to say, that Mitsu-junk has to go! But it sounds like it's already gone! :-)

Otherwise it's a gem! Looks super-clean and begging for turbo transplant!

but you've now got the largest rad that fits

a simple extension tube in the top hose makes it fit the 2.2 / 2.5 easy

I used a section of 70's vacume cleaner tube when I put the 2.6 rad in my first daytona

Is the best plan for a 2.5 swap to find an 88 New Yorker? I do have a caravan harness available but would like to get a whole car to make sure I have everything I need.

Whole car for a driveline swap is ALWAYS the best idea, most of the time it's cheaper than piecing everything out as well. CLean car, I see why you couldn't resist

    mmm yeah
I think you might have a harness issue as I seem to remember the 84's still used a 40 way b-h connector as opposed to a 50 way

I could be wrong but if not it's probably a good time to put that thought out there

the 88 harness would have the 50 way just like an 86 or 87 but uses a smec instead of the lm/pm

adding a later model dash harness might yet again cause issues as the rest of the body wireing might well not match to

I know 84 vs 85 door wireing it totally different at the corners of the dash in a daytona so I wouldn't be suprised if that carried over to the K's as well
    - and in 86 mopar started using different connectors in a lot of locations

This is a question that needs an answer. Does anyone know for sure? Guess I can take a peek under the dash when I get the car home.

Nothing a set of tin snips and a bit of silicon sealer couldn't remedy!

Seriously, if all that's in the way is a larger hole in the firewall...
