    - Can any of the EGR stuff be removed? Yes . block it off. you may get a CEL light.

    - Rebuild parts. Rings, gaskets, etc. best kind / place to acquire this stuff.
the vendor section here. support our vendors that keep this platform alive.

    - I read about some guy named nitetrain who made some intake manifold spacer and stuff. Is any of this still available?

The diamante cams are slightly hotter. For rebuild parts I've had good luck with rockauto. Go with Fel-pro gaskets and if you are doing the hone job yourself use regular iron rings or a set with a moly top ring. If you are having a machine shop do the hone go with chrome rings because they will last longer. When you buy rings make sure you get the right set there are 2. If you will be using the earlier pistons you need the set with 2 1.5mm rings and if you're using newer pistons you will need the set with one 1.2mm ring and one 1.5mm ring. If you buy new pistons you have the option to raise the compression ratio by using the 10:1 diamante pistons. Those pistons will make it an interference engine so there is a downside. Intake spacers are not hard to make out of wood or plastic. I don't know if anyone still sells them. The EGR stuff can all be removed. Either ignition coil will work. I'd used both on my 87' when it had the stock computer and saw no difference. I would stick with the canister coil though. It is oil cooled. I think I covered everything you need to know about the interchangeability aspects of the parts in post #13.

Master, as stated I have dug around in the vendor section. I have no problem supporting a forum vendor. My problem is most of it is 4cyl stuff obviously. The few things I have found for the 3.0 have been dead links and ancient threads.

Lighbulb, yes all of that is great and I have re-read your post a few times, just seeing if anyone else had any gotchas or why your in theres.

Another thing you might want to do is make the ring gaps bigger. If you ever plan on turbocharging the engine this will help it live. On my current engine, the top rings are gapped to 0.032" and the second rings are gapped to 0.036".

If I order a rebuild kit and ordered one for a Diamante I should get 10:1 Pistons right? Everything else should work as well? Whats the cutoff for the different ring sizes?

Call them. :-) while the turbo stuff is more popular man will offer/have available or can get 3.0 parts.

Anyone know what the actual thread size is for the charge temp sensor? Going to have the manifold drilled and tapped while it's at the shop.

So I just got done with installing my Daytona Struts and Coils and I only got about an inch and a half in the front. Slightly disappointed. Anybody know why?

your factory van springs had already sagged pretty heavily.
or you need to drive the van around some so it settles.

Are they new? Do they have the coil isolater (spring seat) on the bottom of the coil?
That is about what i got when i changed mine recently. But i think they should settle a bit since mine were new cartridges.

Yes, brand new struts/spring/mount kit. I assume they will settle some after driving. also had the theory of the van springs sagging, but its seemed pretty high in the front before so wasn't sure.

I agree, you probably just need to let them settle. I had used(but still good) Daytona struts and springs on mine before the coilovers.

Do you have a link to what you did for coilovers?

Johnny did some on his old van, and had a good write up. But just hoping you found another solution.

Similar to what Johnny did If his thread is the one I'm thinking of. Neon Koni inserts in Daytona strut bodies with 10" 400lb rate springs, Mookeh camber plates and Ebay sleeves/spring hats(not the plastic ones). For the shaft nuts I ground down some long shank lug nuts to fit inside the ball on the camber plate then cut the ends off to provide access to the adjusters.

I had the ebay springs that came with the sleeves and hats on there originally but they weren't strong enough and they would compress to the point of spring bind on big bumps. With the 400lb springs it's just about perfect. A little stiff but not crazy. I will get some better pics on Monday or Tuesday when I take the drivers side out. The little adjuster tab for the damper snapped off so I'm going to see what I can do about fixing it. It's stuck on full soft and that's not cutting it with these springs. I'm also planning to add in some tubing as a spacer under the inserts to gain some extra travel.

Re: New guy with lots of questions

I'd like a solution that uses a new strut of some sort.
The neon parts you mentioned are just the parts that convert the strut to a adjustable coilover?

Re: New guy with lots of questions

The neon part is a Koni cut-a-strut insert. You cut the top off some k-car struts, gut them, then insert the Koni.
