Got my FWDP 4 Puck clutch today

This is a developing story. The reason behind me buying this clutch? Last week I went to a drag track rental. Clutch started to slip, so I left early.

The next day something happened to the pressure plate. The clutch was no engaging right off the floor. The pedal was really soft. I couldn't shift gears like butter anymore. The pedal had a pretty good vibration going on.

Damaged clutch is a TIII kit with under 1.5 years on it. Perhaps 10k miles. This is the first time I damaged a TIII clutch.

So monday I ordered the FWDP clutch. Its a 4puck disc with TIII pressure plate. I'll have it installed in the next few days. I'll also find out what failed.

I have mine, and love it now that I learned how to drive with it. It took some getting use to. The trick is to let the clutch out fast, or you will ge a crazy amount of chatter before it engages. I have one on my R/T and love it!

The one in my shadow held up pretty well. It was much to aggressive for what I ended up doing with the car, but that is how it goes when you change plans. I pulled the clutch with a little over 20K on it, and it looked like it would need to be replaced soon, but not terrible either.

Could you measure the thickness of the pucks for me? I'm trying to determine if what I have have is worn.

Actually I had one heck of a time getting my first FWD 4 puck in the car. I had to send the disk back several times before we worked it out. It took some time, but it was OK in the end.
