    Emergency brake issue

I parked my car and apparently didn't set my emergency brake firmly enough, so when I went to get out of the car it started to roll backwards. I jumped in and in panicking I slammed the e brake all the way to the floor, and the peddle overshot it's limits and now is all the way down and the release lever is limp. I was able to manually undo the brake but since it's midnight I don't feel like climbing under the dash now. Am I looking at being able to reset the mechanism or did I most likely break another f'n irreplaceable part? The car is a 91 R/T if it matters. Thanks

Hard to say without looking first. The mechanism is pretty robust, the release rod may be slightly bent.

you might wat to remember the rear cables differ from mfg to mfg

so replacing them as pairs is a good idea as mismatched rear cables can make adjusting the rear brakes very difficult

.. yeah with a drum in the center

my point is if you use differing cables you get a different tension on each wheel

trying to adjust it so they then match becomes hard to do
