DUH!!!!!!!!!!!
The TC by Masi is a cut down Daytona floor pan. I have 3 of the cars. All 3 were rustproofed. By factory or dealer doesn't matter. They are good.

While it is true the TC *is* a shortened G-body (it is shortened behind the front seats where the rear passenger footwell would have been), and the floor pan *can* work....they are NOT the same as a G-body if you go and just try to cut the floor out. The upper skin is the same, but it's a double wall build on the TC and the way the frame rails and all are tied in underneath are totally different. I have pictures of the one TC I cut up recently. Stripping and cutting 2 TC's up taught me a lot about them...they are NOT a "typical" TM and very little actually interchanges without a lot of work.
Just giving information and a fair warning.
is it different from the J body convertable reinforcement that runs from the firewal , along the center tunnel and across the seat riser and then over the reair frame rails ..? (lol)
ok , asked as I know the J body set up - had it in my grey 87 t top shelby z , from the back seat forwards - with the console
I was able to get the tunnel reinforcement nos from mopar back in 96-7
And I thought I had an aha! moment. Now I know!
but you did , you did have an aha moment
it's just that you were still thinkin' fix .. but you might have found a way to make the chassis stiffer
