Axle Stailizer Fix for Persistant Axles Seal Leak

We spent a lot of time breathing new life into the 143000+ mile 1989 Spirit ES only to discover the left axle seal was leaking. Changed the seal and resealed the bearing retainer a few times, changed the axle too but the leak continued. Research showed the likely cause is worn diff bearings.
Google helped me find information on this Axle stabilizer made by Teckpak: https://www.transmissionpartsusa.com...-032125lrb.htm

I spoke with a rep there and found out that this has been on the market since the 1990's. He was surprised to hear there was still a car on the road that would need one. I was surprised that I didn't find it on the forum. With nothing to lose, one was ordered and installed.
    No more leak!

It doesn't have to last forever, there's a fresh 568 in this car's future.

I've seen those mentioned before, but never reports of anyone using one. Glad to hear that it works.

I have some that i've never installed. Seems like a good semi-permanent (but probably not truly permanent) solution if you can still get your hands on them.

Seems like it might be a good preventative measure...

I think i remember somebody who once had a fast car cantankerously making an extremely vague reference that implied that keeping the axle properly supported there was helpful to keep axles alive at the track. Vague to the point of hearsay, i guess. But running them 'couldn't hurt'.

the gears in the diff that the axles slide into might appreciate the extra support (?).. maybe

Every single trans I have opened up the side gear slop was extreme. There was a shim kit out there with 4 or 5 pairs of those large shim washers in different thicknesses to tighten up things. With the OBX Q/C somewhat better and more proven IMO its almost just not worth putting the stock open differential back in anymore.
