Wanted pictures of 8v holset setups

Looking to go holset on my L body. I'm going to be running a bmf intake and was looking to use the he351 turbo. Was wondering what everyone had to modify to run the holset on there cars. Things like clearance The fire wall and such. I plan on running the brake booster And power steering I know I will have to make a downpipe and planned to build my exhaust from scratch anyways. Links to threads would also be great and details like what header your running also. Thanks

I'm in the exact same boat, what exhaust manifold do you plan on running?

I'm still debating he341 or 351, I have both, and ill be running a 2.5 I think, so I may go 351 also... (I'm bummed about running the 2.5, but its the most legit motor I think I have at this time until I tear it open)

I currently have a 2.5 also till I tear it down then will probably go 2.2 but the head will be big valves and such. I'm thinking the stock manifold or make one to set the turbo over the transmission. I think the tu header will push it to close to the brake booster. Not sure if it will fit the stock mani or not might be close for the downpipe

I believe signsoflife22 is running a holset351 in his Lbody. Along with a BMF intake and log header from onerippenturbo2:

I'm putting an HX30W on the daytona using a factory manifold redrilled for a T3 pattern. I had to build the downpipe from scratch and weld a 90 onto the compressor outlet, which won't be an issue with the HE. I have pictures kicking around.

PM me your email address, I can send you a boat load of pics, HY35 install into a GLHT.

I modified the stock manifold, running a manual steering rack, fab'd my own downpipe and exhaust.
No firewall modification, had about 1-2 inches of clearance.

    Edit
Click on my username and check out my gallery, most of the pics are there, I have a few of the exhaust setup I sent someone
a few months ago that are not on there.

i will definitely check them out. I will be running power steering just need to buy a different pump.

thats more clearance than I thought you would have in an l body. Good to see. Not sure how close in size the he351 is tho. What kind of power did you end up putting down?

Check out this thread when I was promoting and helping Asa with his BMF's. There should be some good info on fitment for Exactly what you are planning.

    http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...horizon!/page2

ZF PS pump will solve your PS issues and If you want a little more clearance between turbo and Intake you could drill the T3 pattern lower in the stock manifold like another member did. (I have always centered the T3 gasket on the manifold outlet and drilled it that way)

I also have pics from the Holset on the Charger if needed.

Last known #'s were between 590 and 640WHP lol (depending on whether you believe Mustang dyno or Dynojet )

    No HP numbers
First outing at the track, with a rough tune, 12.13@112
This was running 18psi, race gas, 10.8 on the wideband so there's a little room for improvement fuel wise
Thought about turning up the boost a little to lean it out next time

I believe I've seen them on everything 88 and up excluding L-bodies, which is interesting because the L-bodies could use them the most. lol

Must have been an option, like the Nippondenso alt's.

The ZF takes a different HP hose and it's a nice tight clearance piece. Although, I'd swear I've seen people just run the regular pump line in there as well?

Pretty sure the low pressure hose works as is.

it was like 11$ on amazon.

i took some of what was left and wrapped it around the pipes coming out of the pump. and wire tied them to the line. .

Rock auto has pumps and lines which I will need but none come with a pulley and I'm unsure if the brackets are the same from one pump to the other. May be a jy run in order.

I think I read in one of the build threads that it didn't spool hateful on even a stock head and made close to 300 thats rather impressive since I wanna mock up and get it running with the new wiring before I build a full engine and big valve head. Any input on spool times ported and not. The article I read was a build thread from speed freak. Nice little build

also for clearance the ZF pump design is pretty standardized, would be easy to find a remote reservoir design that would bolt up.

Has anyone else ran an HX35 turbo? By the research I've done I need around a .70-.80 A/R turbo with a 60mm turbine which the 12cm hx works out to be. This is on a high flowing 2.5 that is already out flowing a .63 stage 2 T3 housing and wastegate.
