    1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby Stalls

It has the 2.2 turbo in it and for the past week you can be driving and the car just dies, it has also stalled out while the car is just idling. Once it dies the car will turn over but it won't start until you wait five or ten minutes and then it starts and drives just fine until it stalls once again. I checked for codes and there aren't any. Any ideas will greatly be appreciated!

Do you have spark when dead? and do you have fuel pressure when dead? Do you hear the fuel pump as the key is turned on?

Have you tried flooring the accelerator during cranking? This stops the injectors from adding fuel and is a solution for a flooded engine. Can you check the fuel pressure at the rail? It should be around 55psi plus the pressure in the manifold. Can you smell raw fuel out of the exhaust?
I believe that I have read that a bad HEP can be defective an NOT throw a code (code 11/54), but an easy check if you have a known good HEP to try.
I do have a 88 powertrain diagonistic FSM that may be close enough for your SMEC

Yes it was a bad HEP, would you know why the bottom third of my air filter would be soaked with oil?

    Excellent news!!!

Re oil- Are you getting getting lots of blow by?? Do you have oil in the bottom section of your IC? My 88 Shelby Z had tons of oil in the bottom of the IC when I bought it.

Stock air box? The hose coming off of the valve cover going to the bottom of the air box will allow for oil to be drawn into the air box over time. While that sounds like a lot of oil, if it's an old filter that isn't too crazy. A lot of oil in there could indicate a lot of blow by. You can always run a catch can in line with that box and avoid this.
