    Dipstick tube broke off

I picked up a spare engine from a wrecked car to freshen up and swap into my car. The issue is that the top of the dipstick tube was crushed and was bent at the block. When I tried to straighten it up, it snapped off at the block.

How do I get the piece out of the block? Engine is on a stand with the oil pan off.

I'm assuming that it's press fit like the turbo drain back tube, does it just get pounded up out of the block?

Does anyone have a spare dipstick tube?

Thanks, figured it couldn't be as difficult as it appears to be. All of the ones I've dealt with before are just interference fit. From the bottom it looks like it's got anaerobic sealant on it but it must have been cracked already because I wiggled it a couple of times and it let go.

grind down a bolt to create a shelf to catch the bottom edge of the tube and pull it up from the top. you can wedge the bolt in there with a small pick or screwdriver.

I took an easy out to mine.
Tapped it in, turned the easy out and it broke the seal on the block, then I put some vise grips on the easy out and pulled up.

Thanks guys, I was a bit too worried I guess. The easyout worked like a charm, just pushed it in by hand and turned with a wrench. Came out so easy that I thought it slipped. One problem down, we'll what else the build has waiting for me
