So I just noticed SDAC is technically only until Tuesday this year unless there is a rain out for the drags. Are people staying Wed too or are most leaving? I had my flight home booked for Thursday but don't feel like paying another room night to sit in the lounge by myself. I debating paying to move my ticket to Wed or not.

I am not planning to stay Wednesday. If the rain date is needed, I will decide what to do then, but I would rather not head home by myself.

Sorry for clogging up the thread with the daily progress. If anyone would like to check it out, I've moved that to my project log. I plan on keeping it going for documentation purposes, and also because it has really kept me motivated.

I need all the motivation I can get these days as shipping problems on parts I've been patiently waiting on has been driving me nuts over the last week or so. Am I the only one receiving late shipments on stuff that's absolutely necessary to make it to SDAC? It's unreal.

I don't have much faith in weather forecasts, but for what it's worth, the Accuweather long-range forecast for our time in Detroit is looking really good so far.

There's a 40 min road rally over to the Prior's on Sat.

There really isn't a spot for a rally in the schedule. I did ask if one was needed, but was honest that I didn't really want to get into it. So, if we have a rainy day on Tuesday and the drags are moved to Wednesday, I can drag out the one from SDAC-18. But it would be done without prior checking the route or question accuracy (it just would be something to do).

We're planning to stay Wednesday too unless something changes.

Is there a format for Top Gun this year? I'm never in convention, but I like to keep my own scoreboard for people throughout the convention. No autocross and no road rally really mixes it up compared to other years.

Dave and I need to nail down Top Gun details. Without a rally or autoX, the road course will come into play. Without the road course being a "timed" event, it may just be participation req. TBD ASAP

What the requirements there? Autocross always basically eliminated van participation.

IIRC the last time we were there was an SRT Ram going around the track in an impressive fashion.

I'm not really set up for it anyway, but just curious. Not that I think there's hope for Top Gun in a van...

Not even familiar with what the road course entails.

In a given year, a van could easily win top gun. As a matter of fact, with the traditional format I think there's a huge advantage which goes to the vans.

ETA: With what we know about the format for this year I already have my favorite picked for the event.

I'd like to think there will be info about where to buy some high octane fuel out there...might be something to nail down for the goody bags & such if it's not already planned.
