Requirments for Logic Module 4 wire AIS

So I did a bunch of searching and all I can find is that the Logic Module's made in late 86 and all of 87 are supposed to have the components to run the 4 wire AIS motor but I cannot find if there is anything in the programming/calibration that needs to be changed or if it is just supposed to be a plug and play thing after you re-wire the 2 extra wires for it. If anyone has done this before your input would be greatly appreciated.

I wired mine up and plugged it in but am still running the factory calibration and the car idles at about 1700 rpm and if I plug and unplug the ais motor nothing changes

I was thinking of doing this as well. Have you compared T1 vs TII calibration?

    From minimopar

If you have a 1988 or later Turbo I, any Turbo II, or any TBI engine, then you have the pintle-type AIS motor. Remove the AIS unit and rotate the pintle clockwise to screw it in. If it spins easily, then you can try to clean the pintle and shaft with solvent or carb-cleaner. Reconnect the cable to the AIS motor and have someone turn the ignition on. Watch the valve for movement. The valve should spin out, and maybe back in again. If there is no movement, then you may have a bad or seized AIS motor, or a wiring problem. there is little that can be done with these motors besides replacing them.

What 87 logic module do you need? I have a few.

Both my 87 cars (T1 and TII) have fully populated LM and both appear the same electronics wise. The hybrids and resistor arrays are from different vendors but I would assume that is just a production lot issue.
Here is the schematic from a TII

1987 TI was still suck through. If you are running an 87 TI cal, it will not run the four wire AIS. You can socket an 87 TI and install a TII cal.

Re: Requirments for Logic Module 4 wire AIS

Yes I have a 87 LM that was meant for a suck thru 2 wire ais motor. So Turbo 1. I have upgraded to the intake that I guess would be considered the TII I think. It uses the 4 wire AIS motor that would be pressurized on a turbo car . The car is actually NA so I have socketed the LM and am tuning it because the car has absolutely no balls under WOT because the spark curve sucks. I am just trying to figure out what I need to change in the CAL to make the 4 wire motor work. But it sounds like I need to load a totally different base tune to start with?

So just incase anyone else is trying to figure this out I went and burned a turbo 2 calibration to a chip, put it in the car and the logic module (Made in oct 1986) runs the 4 wire ais motor
