    N/A Horsepower Guess

I know this is a turbo forum so if you have to kick me off you can but there are no active forums for N/A motors and eveyone here has always been really helpful in the past.

I have a 92 2.5 N/A motor that I have built. Listing my mods and what HP I think or have heard they add. I am looking for constructive criticism on other things I can do and also how much horsepower you think I have gained over stock compared to my guesses. (This is for a dirt circle track car) I can only run factory parts. Rules don't say what I can or cannot do to the factory parts tho. Engine has been fully rebuilt and so my total HP is based off of the factory base HP rating of 100

    -Removed Balance Shafts +8
    -Windage Tray +1
    -Oil Pump Mod +0
    -PT Lifter Mod +0
-Installed Multiport Injection (1 Piece Intake running off 87 LM & PM) +12
    -52 MM Throttle Body +5
    -Ported Head +5
    -11.2:1 Compression +12
    -3 Foot open 2 1/4 Exhaust +5
    -Underdrive Pulley +4
    -180 T-Stat +0

    Base HP 100

    Total HP Guess 152

I hope you are right, a Turbo with most of the above was in the same ballpark. 150hp seems to be a bit high to me for NA

How are you going to tune it? What kind of fuel?

Pretty sure a ported head if done right will add more than 5hp. FWIW they were able to build 180hp NA 2.2's back in the 80's, so I don't see why you couldn't hit that with the right mods and tune.

I have adjusted a few things with mptune such as timing curve and fueling. Waiting on a cable I ordered to get mpscan working before I tune any further. I am just running on 93 octane pump gas. Haven't had any issues with knock that I can tell. Will be able to tell for sure when I get mpscan working

    I would guess 140, but I am a conservative.

You may find the one piece intake a huge restriction when the air isn't being forced through it

    Re: N/A Horsepower Guess

I don't see anything about a cam or head work. I'm going to guess 120hp without those things.

BTW, I know over 200hp can be made with one of these engines N/A on an 8V head. Combo is everything.
