Test & tune Sunday 3/5/2017 - Fayetteville Dragway- (NC)

So I'm anxious to get back out for some more testing to try to get things closer to ready for SDAC27.
I've got a few things to do this week, so it isn't quite definite, but i am going to try and be caught up so i can go.
I don't think I'll have to mess with the boost control at all except for maybe giving the g-valve a tweak after the shakedown run.
I do want to do a tranny filter service and some fresh fluid.- I will not be changing my transfer gears for this weekends testing.- That may be the next time.
I need to drain out some fuel, since i ended up with way too much last time out.

Last time out i was plagued with several little issues that kept me from running any 11 second passes, although the 12.002 was close!
Will be looking to try improve my 60' time.- If the track is warm like last week, i'd like to try some changes to tire pressure and launch rpm, as well as possibly test the mpscilink bin editor and flash features.
This might be the last time i can go until after April.- Might be able to make it once more but not sure, so i hope i can get there Sunday...

Ok, just checking in...
Weather looks to be good racing air, sunny with a high of 56F, E winds 5-10.
MeanMini will have a couple minor changes from last time.
1. Need to drain out some fuel to get down to 1/2 tank
2. Will have the exhaust back on (that was a 30lb savings when i removed it for last time, but not going through that trouble.)
3. Trying out a different trans fluid, to see if i can lower my converter slip %

Goal is to run 1st pass at present boost setting. I will dial the launch control back to my lower setting due to not knowing how the new fluid will be.

To recap, fastest ET has been 11.778 @ 113.04mph
But, fastest mph has been 113.75 (the same day i made the 11.77)
If i can do better than either of those, it'll be a good day!

Late start due to a couple snafu's...

I may have upset the guy in the AMG Mercedes i beat, since he did about 50mph down the bumpy return road.... but everyone saw the beating...

2nd run, upped boost a bit and changed launch settings.
And i red-lighted and a vac/boost hose popped off.

And that is the best part of racing a Minivan, it is a no-lose scenario. Look at the AMG for example, if he won, everybody would say "big deal, you beat a minivan" and he gets no respect. But to LOSE to a minivan in a big $$ car...he'll never hear the end of it!

3rd run against a new Camaro. Don't know which flavor, but he had some vented hood and quad exhaust tips.
He might be butt hurt. He sure was sleeping at the tree! Would have been really close otherwise.
A guy just came by and said he got some video, he has the 2nd run against the red Cobra 'vert and this one. So i should get them on youtube.


I think this is all i got today. I can't make any more boost. I think i need more tension on my wastegate arm, but not sure i can do that here. Exhaust header is a bit toasty.

Raced the same E55 AMG and he had some Hoosiers...


I shifted to 3rd too early. Might have been better otherwise.

That always seems to be my color!
Once again I was the fastest minivan there!
And lots of folks stopped by to see it in the pits. Kind of good to be back to making all 11 second passes, although i honestly expected a bit better.
I can't up my boost at all. Which means, i must be blowing open my wastegate puck.
The pass where i blew a vacuum line off, that was my manifold pressure line to (guess what? ) my MBC! So that run at some point (probably at the boost spike) i had no boost going yo my wastegate actuator. It was still only 25psi. So, i have likely been blowing my wastegate open for some time now.

I need a better wastegate actuator, as I previously suspected I guess!

Thanks, the last run might have been right there if I didn't shift to 3rd as early as i did.
I've got my condensed run logs for the 4 runs. These are just the runs, you'll see me get on the staging limiter near the top of the spreadsheet.

Elsewhere in the logs I do see some funky numbers, like we have before. I'll send the full .mpl's to your email.

I did try the flashing, after the phone support, but could not get it to flash. Since my ignition is already on for the mpscilink, I don't think it worked. I attached the bootstrap wire when it prompted to start up the ecu in boot mode, but it did nothing. I guess I'll have to try using battery power for the device, and not power from the diagnotistic plug.
I'll try to test that new version you sent on Weds/thurs when i am off.

A nice spectator with a cool vortech supercharged Dakota 5.9 R/T (which ran in the 12's with street tires) took some video and then sent it to me. I did have alot of my lines clamped with wire ties. This one did not. It does now.

I need to revisit what is the best remedy. What have you worked out on yours?
