Still waiting on Rob M for an ECU. I have kept my daily as a factory ECU setup hoping to get a few barriers broken for other people. SBEC2 3.0 cars, the P bodies, seem to be the most common and there are lots of people on facebook to connect with and share capabilities with. I have an interest in keeping more cars on the road or being played with. 41TE control would be useful for even more people. Its not very fun to do this stuff alone.

I use megasquirt on other stuff as I would have been screwed having all my eggs in a dead ecu basket (what its been since I started in 2002). There are quite a few functions I talked with Rob M about that would be great selling points but probably a tough road on the lightly disassembled 3.0 SBEC2. I currently have an AEM FIC piggyback in the Daily and bare minimum just need Rev limiter a few thousand higher. Piggybacks add more error so ditching it would be nice.

BTW, how do you read transmission codes? I have a DRBII but not sure it can.

You have to have a Snap-On MT2500, Chrysler DRB-II, or the like to read the TCM. The older cars also have a separate plug under the dash IIRC to do that...but it's been a LONG time since I've seen it done.

I used to have to do it on my 1989 and 1993 Grand Caravans, small blue six pin connector (not all six were used).

No, I have waited 15+ years for a flashable ECU, the only time I ever looked was 89 cal back in mid 2000's. I got blocked on Dcal mailing list in 2006ish for an email that got forwarded to my entire email contact list.
I am wary of diving into a dangling carrot until I have my hands on it. Your work on the 92 260 is recent and appreciated. I never had a pre 92 car until the last few years (have house to hoard) so I had no reason to investigate.

I know there is a problem with scaling timing beyond 1 bar.

I have DRBII but not sure if I have the right hookup. Never had a reason to try until now and those cars are mothballed unless I am somehow helping out the process.

That'll control it if you can work with the manufacturer for support.

Do you have any proof that it's worked for ANY Chrysler electronically controlled transmission? The Chrysler control method is completely different from the Ford and GM methods.

it does say it controls clutch to clutch shifts. looks like many of us would have to hassle them and then work with them and have 41te good-working-order cars to do testing on.

like my 07 town and country. maybe ill hit them up depending on price.

It's not the clutch to clutch shifting...that's nothing new. It's the methodology/strategy used to accomplish it that's the issue.

between what ken detailed out and what the patent docs detail out and what we already know about the setup would probably be enough.

its not like we cant hook a bunch of pressure sensors to the pressure ports and loggers to the solenoids and speed sensors and figure it out.

i bet fleck has some info to that we forgot to ask him about.

The price is pretty steep at ~$1200, but that is also for a fully supported and tested product with a plug and play harness and a warranty.

$1200 for a plug-n-play controller that would give us everything we've always wanted...honestly, that's not bad. 20-something year old me would balk at that price, but nowadays I understand what it takes. If it would allow what we want at the power we want to make and keep the transmission alive...I think it's worth it!

    Re: 41TE/604 operated by Megasquirt

I'd hope it would be cheaper for a beta product, but for one that's fully tested and proven and plug and play, like the 6R80 is, it's not a bad deal. We are paying $1300+ for converters, $400+ for input shafts and output shafts, more for billet transfer gears, ring and pinions, etc, etc, for the 3spds. The 4spd shouldn't need as many hard parts as the 3spd for the same power levels up to a point and that money could go to the controller instead.

It would take someone working with the manufacturer, but the hardware is there to support it, it'll just need some code tweaking. It already does clutch fill learning, etc that other controllers other than factory don't do and the Chrysler Clutch to Clutch transmissions need.

Thanks for contacting us, but we do not offer any products for Chrysler transmissions.

    Annoying.

Without seeing this thread, I had been pondering how people are using Motec on GTR transmissions and was wondering what other products out there could work.

I don't think the question was "do you sell chrysler products" but do you know what your product is capable of....

Ask the question without stating a transmission name!

Chryslers electronic transmissions are definitely and odd sort. Nobody really messes with the RFE's either save for a few diesel shops. Crazy because there's a company that has already developed a standalone for the 8HP. Everyone stuck with the ole torqueflite based units or nags and never bothered developing the te's or rle's or RFE's.
