    Power Lynz (Head Port/Polish Question)

So I am currently in the process of polishing my cylinder head. I didn't get into porting as I don't have a flow bench and so all I am doing is removing casting flaws and smoothing out the runners. I was reading on Allpar about porting our 8 valve heads and they are using "Power Lynz" on the intake runners to create turbulence and atomize the fuel. I know in porting you always leave the intake runners polished at about a 40-60 grit to help atomize the fuel but this seems extreme and almost would defeat the purpose of ever removing any casting flaws. Is this something specific to our cylinder heads, I only ask because I've never heard of doing this before?

you might want to check the feedback section before thinking about dealing with MPGMike. On the topic you posted, my 2 cents is the people making the most power from 2.2 heads do not have these " Features " done to the head, and one of the best 2.2 head porters I know also doesn't incorporate the power lynz into his port jobs either, so I wouldn't bother.

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

Make those ditches run directly through the valve seat. Then you get glow for all 720 degrees of the cycle.

The gimmicks are looking for economy at low rpm and low throttle. Optimizing idle will hurt power even at 2000 rpms.

Re: Power Lynz (Head Port/Polish Question)

Thanks for the info, I'll just stick to what I know to do. If the "Lynz" are for low rpm power it doesn't matter anyways. I spend 99% of the time above 3500RPM so they would just be a waste of time and effort

That is pretty messed up that he stole someones cylinder head. I'll have to remember to check the bad deals section before I buy anything from anyone

Re: Power Lynz (Head Port/Polish Question)

I had Power Lynz on one of the head done by MPGMike. Noticed NO difference in power or MPG, just $750 gone.

I was so upset with MPGMike regarding to my second head, I sold the first head.

All I asked on the second head was to stop what he was doing, put everything in a box and ship it back. He can't even do that.
