    Stock Horizon Wheel Options?

looking for rims for my 87. still 4x100. i know a lot of vehicles share this size. hondas, a few older fords. but offset always confuses me though. is there a magic number for an L body? correct me if im wrong but ive seen 40 come up a few times? ive read somewhere that honda rims wont fit due to the hub size can anyone confirm what stock horizon hub size is? im thinking of going ebay rims, cheapest possible really, but looking for a spoked rim, no steelies. also nothing larger than 15 or 16. whichever has cheaper tire options. this is more for cheap asthetics rather than weight reduction or handling.

57.1 on hub bore for the Chryslers. Stock pizza 15X6" is around -38et offset. In a 6" wheel, -35-40ET will probably work fine. Gets a bit more critical as you get wider. If you go with hub bore spacers, it is best to try to find all metal ones. I've seen plenty of melted spacers on autocross cars! Note on the GLH/SC vehicles only they used a trailing arm that was approximately 1/2" wider to better fit the chassis and provide a little wider track. You can easily duplicate this by placing some 1/4" spacers between the trailing axle and the spindle. I think Omni-Potent sells some aluminum ones. Steel would be my preferred choice though. Dissimilar metals will cause them to corrode rapidly.

I have a set of 13" Detomaso wheels I'd sell. Probably cost 20 or so per wheel to ship though.

It would be worth it to the true wheel fanatics out there but if you're just looking for something workable, make sure and look into what tire sizes are still available for 13" wheels before you buy any. The choices are limited. Most people avoid them now just for that reason. I'm not trying to dissuade, just help make an informed choice.

Another thing to consider, is that by going up to a 15" rim, it gives you room for brake upgrades later... Because let's all be honest, non-Shelby L-body brakes SUCK!!!

If you want more GO, you need more WHOA!!!

that was my original intention down the road, one of the reasons for the 15s. with my daily highway driving the offramps come up quick on crappy brakes haha. so good point, i didnt pay attention to the 13" size. my bad

    Re: Stock Horizon Wheel Options?

Afrer much research I think I've found a rim that I like. It's really close when it comes to the dimensions so id like to know if anyone has experience with a similar size. Any clearance issues or anything running thisbsize? The new rims are 15x7 with a 40 mm offset. Here a link if anyone's interested.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/182348548230

To high for my budget, also trying to stay away from 5 spoke.

If those fit really well. I'd the extra 1/2 inch in width gonna create any issues for me?

I'd be veeeery careful with those. I don't know what kind of driving you do, but I don't think I'd be willing to trust a 20 dollar wheel when it hits that first slight road imperfection. The internet is filled with pics of destroyed knock off wheels. Safety first, budget second my friend.

They're 78 each. So there $80 wheels essentially. I just wanna make sure my measurements are correct. Whether I go with these or not.
