    1982 Charger build

OK Guys and Gals, please bear with me and be patient as this will not be a quick build as time is definitely a constraint as I have little of it to give as we get towards spring.

That being said, I finally got to roll the car into the work shop to get some work done on it. I'll give more info as the thread progresses. Thanx for stopping by!

My solutions to the motor mount puzzle... I'm not much of a fabricator / welder. Just used what was left with the car and some scraps laying around. I like how the trans mount came out. Not so sure on the Passenger side, but it seems to work.

LOL...yes,it wasn't worth building something vs the cost of buying one. Can you tell me which pics aren't showing up? They all are for me.

Got a shipment of billet trans parts in. Also putting in the 904 input shaft and will rework the valve body. Will have pics as I start digging into that. Need to find a supplier for frictions though...

My solution for the trans mount. I also did the passenger mount but I didn't like it and I am currently reworking it.

I had no starting or reference points for the mounts in this project as all the stock mounts had been removed...

This was my fuel system. The cover on the left was to make it legal to mount in the car. I'm scraping it and going with a 2 gallon front mount fuel cell for a couple reasons. I- ease of maintenance and installation, 2- I can't stand gas(E85) fumes inside the car, especially on a hot day with the windows up.

    Re: 1982 Charger build

A constant battle in my own mind is what to do with the front end. I picked up this fiberglass piece but I don't think I'm going to use it on this car. As you can see from the pic of the car, the front spoiler is off it. It is always a PAIN when using a trailer transporting an SC on damaging the spoiler. So the debate is on keeping the spoiler or just pulling the whole thing off. I'm not sure there is any advantage to running it besides the cool factor. If I don't run it it would save a few pounds on the car. Right now though I'm leaning towards keeping it and just attaching it with Dzus fasteners or the like and just removing it if its a problem for transport...

You can extend the trailer ramps to help with cars with low front ends.

I used to pull my whole front end to load and unload until I got my enclosed trailer. Thankfully it's only 6 nuts and 3 push locks.

Uh oh...looks like I will have to get creative. Turbo hits the brake master cylinder.

    Options:

1-Go to manual brakes and see if it creates more room.
    2-New exhaust manifold.
3-Some kind of adapter to move the turbo.

I think 3 is out. Going to try #1 . #2 is too painful to think about...
