    187-1988 Daytona Shelby GT

Guy on another group says that he has a T-28 Garrett Turbo from the car in the title and it was factory. I asked if it had been replaced and he says no. Says it was a revised turbo to reduce lag. The compressor housing is supposed to have .49 on it instead of .48 like our stock T-03 Garrett.
My question is, is he incorrect like I think? I do not recall Dodge offering the T-28 for these cars from factory or as an upgrade. Yes, it may be aftermarket, but not factory. What do you guys think?

Is there a chance it's a VNT car and guy doesn't know the difference? Yes, he'd have to be wrong about the year as well but only a little...

I bet that is what he is referring to. Either someone put the VNT into the Daytona or he has the year wrong and model of turbo wrong.

The stock VNT Turbo model used in Chrysler TIV applications was the VNT-25. Aftermarket upgrades were sometimes called VNT-28 or T-28 for short.

Does anyone still have T-28 parts to upgrade an existing VNT?

I used to get them done by TEC in Colorado. Then they started ripping me off. Since then I've used my buddy James at Commercial Turbo

We can build one for you. They are VSR balanced and backed by our 2 year warranty when a $40. oil supply line is purchased.
