Those resonators just control drone at certain rpms, not the noise level...

I'm working on one right now. 31" long. Will connect to the after axle pipe and wrap around the spare tire well on the omni. Having some issues getting the over axle pipe to fit with the changes I've made to the exhaust. Not sure what the problem is as of yet.

it actually works from what ive seen on the net.

    http://forums.corral.net/forums/gene...tely-gone.html

it will take some math and some calculating but it should work.

of course, for a 4 cyl the pipe should be 2x as long as a v8 from what i read.

im gonna try it. id like to remove all my mufflers and see how bad it would be

ill put it as far to the rear of the vehicle as possible.

for those with side pipes, you could use the rest of a regular exhaust in the normal exhaust location capped off teed into the side pipe.

this seems to be only solution to drone that doesnt reduce power.

Put one of those inside of your straight through muffler

Then the alternative is a WALKER 18371 SoundFX which is the OEM muffler for a 91 w250 diesel. 3" in and out but unfortunately it's 25" long and 8.5" diameter.

Sound deader could go a long way to making the cabin more quiet. A friend of mine had a Monte Carlo SS with a worked 383 sbc, headers, and flow masters. I was surprised how quiet that car was.

So, After talking to Harry last night, the problem isn't necessarily the muffler. I think it has a lot to do with the lack of sound deadening inside the car. The car has a layer of heat shield (foil type) and then a plain carpet (without the jute/felt) backing. None of my cars drone, even the one that exits out the side.

    Solution found.

Installed MagnaFlow 12219 and MagnaFlow 11249 with a pipe straight clear out to the bumper.

Exhaust is now super quiet and doesn't drone.

The electric car idea would work. I've seen Teslas running in the 11's at 115mph. A P90d with ludicrous mode should do it.

I don't have a quality microphone that will pick up the base and probably no microphone will pick up the drone. It'll pick up lots of L body rattle, if that is what you're looking for.

Fair enough. I'd love to hear the car in person some day, do you keep it in AZ, or do you have any plans to bring it to any events outside of your locality? Was in AZ years ago, delivered (drove) a 72 Plymouth Scamp from Youngstown, OH to Phoenix.

No plan to drive to anywhere outside AZ at the moment. Fly to AZ and enjoy a warm winter!

Do you have any pics of how you installed them? Or maybe a description. I'm with you on the Omni being too loud. I'd also like to quiet down my Omni. The straight through bullet muffler is very inadequate.

Dynomax VT - spring loaded butterfly with off center pivot so it pivots easily; I've got one on my Spirit R/T TIII, no drone, power improved.

I tried to post a link but I got the "forbidden" problem
