I'll be there. Taking the van out of retirement and risking another transmission to make an appearance.

If you plan on sacrificing your trans, you better make it a good run and get into the 11's!

Last time out I wasn't break boosting and was using a launch controller instead. The only thing that broke was the u-joint in my intermediate shaft on my forth run. Since then I went with a long shaft instead. I am considering nitrous just to get into the 11's at some point.

Don't you have more boost left? Or is that 25psi all she's got?? I would have thought your turbo capable of more, even though you have 16v.

    Re: Roadkill event in Tucson

I'm still at 25 psi. I asked awhile about about max boost on a stock SRT-4 engine and the consensus was about 25 psi. I could probably turn it up but on the dyno my air temps are getting up there. My turbo is bigger than stock but it's still on the small side for higher boost. My pre intercooler temps got up as high as 300 degrees and after intercooler temps were around 150*. With temps like that, volumetric efficiency goes down and it's going to be even worse with more boost. Ambient temps that day were 65* and we were starting the pulls at 80* intake temps. So my turbo is too small and so is my intercooler. My turbine housing is a twin scroll .75. I have a 1.0 but the lag on the street is horrible. So it's a balance of fun to drive on the street and getting the fastest time at the track. If I put nitrous on it then maybe I can take some pressure off of my launch and use the nitrous to help make up for it on the high end so I'm not stressing out my trans.

I hear the Roadkill cars being fired up this morning.. they must be getting them ready.

The $3000 challenge thing sounds like it might be something TM's could do well at.

Not I. I have that tied up in my turbo, exhaust manifold, BOV ($2000ish), AWIC ($500ish), and Megasquirt ($1100ish). If I didn't go 2.4 then I could have because that was basically all junkyard parts and stuff I cobbled together which is the difference between 15 seconds in the 1/4 mile and 12.6 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

Who else is going? We are heading down Fri afternoon. We are bringing a toy hauler to sleep in and will be running my TIII CSX and possibly my 09 Rzr Turbo for the 1/8 mile drags. Stop by and say hi.

AJ, they posted that it would be up to them to judge who qualifies or not on questionable vehicles. I bet they would allow you to run in the challenge. I think there will other cars that have as much in to them as yours in there too.

The Roadkill cars are being loaded on to transporter right now..

My understanding is they will be wandering through the pits and if they see a car they want in the $3K challenge they will put a sticker on your windshield.

    Re: Roadkill event in Tucson

Weather held out for most of the day on Saturday. Was a good time. Test and tune was broken up into three blocks. I raced the first two. Right after the second one (3:00ish) it starts to drizzle so I packed it up. There was some more Roadkill challenge/racing type stuff after that. Vic threw a rod bearing so he had to borrow my truck and tow dolly to get home. I drove my van home.

My best time was 13.1 at 111 mph (best ever was 12.6 @111). After reviewing my data logs from Saturday, I may have to upgrade my intercooler. Ambient air was in the high 60's to low 70's. Intake air temps got up to 190* F at 26 psi of boost by the end of the track. What I currently have: http://www.frozenboost.com/air_water...air-p-203.html the next size up: http://www.frozenboost.com/air_water...air-p-205.html. I measured, I have the room. I'm going to take my trans apart and inspect for cracks. If it held up I'll get this intercooler, dyno-tune, and make another run.
